With the US announcing its removal of its de minimis exemption beginning August 29, 2025, many countries have begun suspending their postal services towards the United States. Unfortunately, the Philippine Postal Service has recently followed suit. Announcing its suspension of service to the US two days ago via Facebook post (see image above).
What is a de minimis exemption? • This is a rule that allows low-value items from other countries to go through US customs without customers having to pay tariffs and duties. Previously, any package valued at $800 below are exempt from such fees. This rule was removed last August 29, 2025.
What does this mean for my order from last month? • At the moment, keychains and standees have already been sent to their respective manufacturers for production. Given that it takes more or less a month for all items to be manufactured and delivered, it's my hope that things get sorted out within that timeframe.
Why are you only announcing this now? • Our local post office (PHLPost) has only released their public advisory last September 2, 2025 despite having halted acceptance of packages much earlier. What if it doesn't get sorted out by October? • Unfortunately, your order may experience delays in shipment. I will be keeping a close eye on any new announcements from PHLPost via their Facebook page for further instructions. At the same time, I will actively look for alternative options for you to still receive your packages without further delay should PHLPost's services be suspended by the time October rolls around.
Are any other countries affected by this suspension? • No, only US customers are affected. All orders from other countries will remain business as usual.
It's a rough time for both businesses and customers with all the things currently happening in the US. Despite me having little to no control over the situation, I would still like to apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. I cannot thank you enough for the support and patience you've given me despite these challenges. Any relevant updates from my country's postal services will be
